In case you missed it: Mozilla released the successor to the Firebird browser (née Phoenix), called Firefox. Go get it... it's the best browser around and it's now got a Windows installer.

After another IE crash I decided to look out a version of Opera. I had forgotten just how great this baby is...if you want stability and nice touches with your browsing experience (some ideas Firefox do seem to be using too)> I will be getting hold of Firefox but it'll take a lot to make me switch away from Opera 7. Check it out: http://www.opera.com

I used Opera as my primary browser almost all the way through its version 6 and early version 7 days. When Firebird 0.6 was released I decided to give it a whirl. Although I was initially not quite convinced enough to change, I grew to like it more and more. Ultimately, I think, it was the fact that even around version 7.1 Opera occasionally exhibited some funky rendering, combined with the simpler and more straight forward interface of Firebird/Firefox and the extension system, that made me switch.
I occasionally use Opera to check my own layouts or really wonky websites and although I must admit it feels quicker and more responsive, I'm still rather predisposed to Firefox. Also, I won't deny that using open source software gives me a nice warm feeling of "doing the right thing."

Since MT-Blacklist inexplicably stopped working I had no other recourse than close comments and trackbacks to stop the spam. I've been meaning to correct this for quite a while, but life got in the way... in a good way I should add.
